June Hicks
June Hicks was born in Yorkshire, has lived in Cornwall since 1957, and is married to a Land's End farmer. Her native village and moors have much in common with Penwith where granite stiles, bent trees and rocky outcrops provide endless subject material for etchings. She studied printmaking at Penzance School of Art and from day one was hooked on this mysterious process by which a drawing acquires another dimension. She is a founder member of Penwith Printmakers and belongs to the St Ives Society of Artists, and can be contacted by emailing junehicks@trevescan.ndo.co.uk.
